About ICHSF
ICHSF21
Dear High Speed Forming Community,
After discussions about the unfortunately still uncertain situation due to the pandemic, it was decided that the ICHSF21 (formerly planned as ICHSF20) will be conducted fully online, on the 13th, 14th and 15th October 2021.
The international character of the conference allows only relatively small time slots per day, 1:30 pm – 4:10 pm (CET), for interactive live discussions on the contributions.
The presentation of the contributed paper itself must therefore be recorded and provided 1 week before the conference (video format, 15 minutes maximum, 250 MB maximum, e.g. PowerPoint slides incl. audio). For the live discussions at the conference, there is a 10 minutes maximum per contribution (2 minutes overview with 3 slides + 8 minutes discussion). Details will follow.
This decision is not easy but unfortunately necessary in our view, since healthiness should always be the primary goal in our society. We deeply hope that the next conference can be held in presence again, with a nice conference dinner etc..
Thank you and stay safe,
ICHSF Organization Team
The largest confluence of experts in the field of impulse-based metalworking, the 9th International Conference on High Speed Forming will be held online on October 13th - 15th, 2021. Please join the conference as an author, an industry expert, a student or someone simply looking to explore this technology.
In addition to the presentation of new research results regarding high speed forming, the conference intention is to provide a forum for the exchange of experiences and the discussion between industrial operators and researchers on an international stage. The topics covered by the conference will reach from new developments in impulse forming to current industrial applications of these processes to future aims of high speed forming.
The conference will cover the following topics:
Process Technologies
Forming and joining technology technologies driven by electromagnetic, electrohydraulic, explosive, hydro punch, vaporizing foil actuator, laser ablation and other novel mechanisms.
Tools and Equipment
Design guidelines and applications of tooling and pulsed power equipment design
Energy
Process efficiency, emission, and life cycle analysis
Materials and Measurement Techniques
Material characterization, high speed testing methods, and process monitoring
Modeling and Simulation
Finite and boundary element methods, physical modeling, and analytical techniques
Industrial Applications
High speed forming applications, Impulse welding and crimping as well as hybrid processes
Organizers
The 9th International Conference on High Speed Forming (ICHSF 2021) is organized in cooperation of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Ohio State University and the Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Components (IUL) of TU Dortmund University.
Conference History
Prof. Matthias Kleiner initiated the Conference on High Speed Forming (ICHSF) in 2002. Since the first ICHSF, which was held in Dortmund, this biannual conference has become one of the major events for high speed forming technologies and its applications. Like its six predecessors, the ICHSF 2021 shall provide scientists, manufacturers, industrial operators as well as other interested persons an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge.
